To share the power of breath, asana and mantra to bring ease and grace to this beautiful, complex life here on earth...

To inspire as many people as possible to be the change we want to see in the world, in line with what is expressed here -

My Mission

“I used to think that the top environmental problems were biodiversity loss, ecosystem collapse and climate change. I thought that with 30 years of good science we could address those problems. But I was wrong. The top environmental problems are selfishness, greed and apathy...and to deal with those we need spiritual and cultural transformation – and we scientists don’t know how to do that.”

My Story

I’m Tamara, and I’ve been on my yoga journey for over 25 years, starting from my first yoga asana classes in Melbourne in 1996. I was super tight, having been a swimmer in high school - and super un-calm due to an overactive mind and unbalanced, unregulated lifestyle, but luckily, somehow, it felt like yoga was a good thing to do anyway.

Soon after, I discovered the potential for peace in eastern philosophies while living in Thailand. There I kept up a very basic asana practice that I’d learned back in Melbourne and that kept me going physically, and envious of some of my buddhist friends who had a greater sense of calm than me, but it wasn’t till I was  travelling in Eastern Europe, that I discovered yoga meditation.  This added some deeper meaning and purpose in life that just ‘travelling the world’ and ‘seeing the sights’ didn’t offer. Over the years of practising yoga asana, mindfulness & mantra meditation,  (plus a little chi kung), eating a plant based diet, incorporating simple Ayurvedic concepts into my day, like Neti, Abhyanga, eating for dosha balance and Dinacharya. I feel lighter and more energetic, peaceful and focused than I ever did as a teen or young adult.

In 2008 I did my 200 hour yoga teacher training and have been teaching yoga asana, pranayam, and meditation in Australia and New Zealand since then. I’m currently undertaking a course in Ayurvedic Wellness Coaching and will soon be able to offer assistance to anyone trying to balance, boost or transform their health and wellbeing.  I love sharing what I have cultivated (I still have a lot to discover) and helping to bring a smile to the faces and hearts of people I meet.

I’ve also been a teacher of English as  Second Language for 25 years, specialising in facilitating conversations, clear and effective written and spoken communication skills and IELTS training.  Learn more about what I love (and laugh at) about this ubiquitous language - English - and how I can help, here.
