About the event

This our second retreat this year and will again be hosted at the amazing Isolation Bay villa on Lake Tekapo, NZ. (The map link connected to this event listing is to the office, not the place itself!)

We'll be doing lots of resting, mindful moving, learning, exploring, befriending, cooking, eating and maybe a little cold water dipping and soaking in the on-site  spa.

  • Yoga sessions morning and night - both vinyasa and restorative (yin and yang)
  • Workshops for exploring simple ways to support health and wellness, especially over the warmer months, but also year round.
  • Delicious, nutritious and plant based meals, and we can all share in putting the breakfasts, lunches and dinners together.

Lisa will be:

  •  guiding a restorative yoga session
  •  facilitating a 'paint and sip' (mocktails and tonics!) session
  •  offering her amazing remedial massages.

Tamara be guiding morning yoga and meditation sessions and a few workshops strewn throughout the day, centred around the following topics:

  • Yoga training: Technique for sustained and safe practice of a few key asanas, and  the benefits of the different catagerories of asanas (twists, forward bends, back bends, inversions etc)
  • Mindfulness and meditation: practising various forms for managing the anarthas like stress, anxiety, hankering etc. and finding our inner peace and bliss.
  • Ayurveda: understanding immunity and metabolism - all the factors that support optimum functioning of these incredible human bodies; And introduction to Ayurvedic herbs and remedies, oils, marma points for massage and revisit, of course, the doshas (vata, pitta, kapha) and maha gunas, especially sattvic living.

RSVP for more details, price/room options (ranging $600 - $1050) and any questions you may have.

Who can come? This retreat suits both newcomers and those who came to the last one. It's often the way that women tend to come to these events, but souls in male bodies are welcome too, especially - but not limited to - guys coming with their girl. (There's one such couple already keen to come so the more the merrier).  Feel free to enquire. You don't need to be advanced in your yoga practice or understanding of Ayurveda. A little background knowledge is helpful but not essential. We'll explore your interests and experience and support your preparation leading up to the weekend.

Feedback from our last retreat in April 2024.

These are extracts from longer personal feedback on how the retreat impacted life, created shifts etc.

"I have felt a shift in energy and improvement in the connection within myself.... It has felt good to use the morning time to actually do something and not sleep in." Melissa

"Since the retreat I have been calmer, I have found myself looking beyond the many moments of frustrations and instead into my future helping me gain perspective in what work and life means to me overall. The yoga retreat has helped me make connections with some earthy souls and I believe has made a positive impact on me in my community." Katrina
